VEGAMAR . LAMUÁ
ILLUSTRATION, SCARF & PRODUCT DESIGN FOR A WINE BOTTLE
"I remember it was in Paris, you gave me a kiss and a glass of Lamuá."
My favorite place in the world to draw and write is at a café table. I like the energy of the room, the people coming in and out, the clinking of glasses and the steamy whistle of the coffee machine; the elegance of a waiter with a tray and at the same time the robust decadence of so many stories leaning against the bar counter. My drawings are of simple lines and white backgrounds, in ink, but they catch many stories.
In each table of the drawing we see a small scene, as they are designed to function separately each as a visual micro-story. What the characters are drinking, both the cup and the plate, tells us about them, their personality and the moment they are living. These characters are inspired by real people and their stories that I have met over the years in Paris.
I like to think that we have dressed Lamuá in one of the most iconic places in the world: a Parisian terrace. And since there are many terraces and we can all be seated customers, I imagine that when someone opens the bottle and pours a Lamuá for a moment they are sitting in the very center of Paris, whether they are visiting for the first time or living a memory.
