A FRESH START AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY DAY

Every morning, with the rays of the sun, you have a new opportunity to start from scratch, not only the day, you can start from scratch everything you want. You have the feeling of having your life ahead of you. "Nothing bad can happen to you at Tiffany's," so Holly goes there for breakfast. As it happens to Holly on Fifth Avenue in the novel "Breakfast at Tiffany's," breakfast breaks with the night, the dreams, the darkness, and inaugurates the light, the real life, the clarity. Breakfasts are not only spiritual, they also come with haste, they are avoided, anything is eaten. But, from my side of the table, they always bring us touches of closeness and humor. They are far from a dinner, which usually has tints of twilight and vampires, or a meal, which is usually associated with sitting down to the elaborate, to the plate on the table that, although it may be informal, is dressed formally, to the family, to set the table and to clear it. Not breakfast, breakfast is usually chaos and fun. It is fun in the form of milk, it is butter for everyone, it is the survival that gives you the coffee, it is that everyone arrives at the time they are ready and leaves at the time set by their own watch. Breakfast awaits you and adapts to what you like, even if you are many people. Breakfast is really a small freedom that we have every day. And it always happens at the beginning, at the beginning of the beginning, so that the rest of the day we continue to savor the freedom and the fun. Milk fun.

And by the way, who is the king of breakfasts? The croissant. Nothing more to say.

UN COMIENZO NUEVO CADA COMIENZO DEL DÍA

Cada mañana, con los rayos del sol, tienes una nueva oportunidad de empezar de cero, no solo el día, puedes empezar de cero todo lo que quieras. Tienes la sensación de tener la vida por delante. “Nada malo puede pasarte en Tiffany’s”, por eso Holly va a desayunar allí. Como le pasa a Holly en la quinta avenida en la novela “Desayuno con diamantes”, el desayuno rompe con la noche, los sueños, la oscuridad, e inaugura la luz, la vida real, la claridad. Los desayunos no son solo espirituales, también vienen con prisas, se evitan, se come cualquier cosa. Pero, desde mi lado de la mesa, siempre nos traen pinceladas de cercanía y humor. Están lejos de una cena, que suele tener tintes de crepúsculo y vampiros, o de una comida, que suele asociarse a sentarse a lo elaborado, al plato en la mesa que, aun pudiendo ser informal se viste formalmente, a la familia, a poner la mesa y a quitarla. El desayuno no, el desayuno suele ser caos y diversión. Es la diversión en forma de leche, es la mantequilla para todos, es la supervivencia que te da el café, es que cada uno llega a la hora que está listo y se marcha a la hora que le marca su propio reloj. El desayuno te espera y se adapta a lo que te gusta, aunque seáis mucha gente. El desayuno es en verdad una pequeña libertad que tenemos cada día. Y siempre pasa al principio, al principio del principio, para que el resto del día sigamos saboreando la libertad y la diversión. La leche de divertido.

Y por cierto, ¿Quién es el rey de los desayunos? El croissant. Nada más que decir.
